Grand American Rolex Series Team Champions and Co-Driver Champion, Rolex 24 At Daytona Champions

2006:

Drove seven Rolex Series races in the No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac Riley, which finished third in the championship. Announced the formation of Wayne Taylor Racing in November.

2007:

Formed Wayne Taylor Racing to campaign the No. 10 SunTrust Racing Pontiac program in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. Team finished third in the Rolex Series team championship with two wins (Alton, Va., and Montreal), nine podium finishes, 11 top-fives and 12 top-10s in 14 races. Also co-drove at two of 14 events, finishing third at the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona with Max Angelelli, Jeff Gordon and Jan Magnussen, and finishing third at the Sahlen's Six Hours at The Glen.

2008:

Competed in the full Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series schedule for SunTrust Racing as Wayne Taylor Racing for the second year, finishing sixth in the final team point standings. With co-drivers Max Angelelli and Michael Valiante, the team scored the season's lone victory from the pole at Infineon Raceway (Sonoma, Calif.). Added podium finishes at the Sahlen's Six Hours at The Glen (Watkins Glen International), New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, and Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Started from the pole at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, the Sahlen's Six Hours at The Glen, and Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala.

Fielded two entries at the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona — the No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac Riley with Angelelli, Valiante, himself and teenage son Ricky, and the No. 9 Penske-Taylor Racing Pontiac Riley in collaboration with Roger Penske featuring drivers Helio Castroneves, Kurt Busch and Ryan Briscoe. Both scored top-five finishes.

Introduced the series' first Dallara chassis at the season's second event in Homestead (Fla.) Miami Speedway, where it qualified on the front row and led laps before being taken out by another competitor.

Overcame a horrendous transporter fire that burned to the ground its trailer and race car, equipment, tools, team apparel and other contents enroute home from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May. The team did not miss a single race thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support from fellow Rolex Series competitors.

Announced that the team will switch from Pontiac to Roush Yates Engines Ford power with the 2009 season.

2009:

Competed in the full Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series schedule for SunTrust Racing as Wayne Taylor Racing for the third year, finishing third in the final team point standings. It was the fifth time in six seasons since joining the series that SunTrust Racing brought home a top-three finish in the final standings.

Switched from Pontiac to Ford power, supplied by Roush Yates Engines.

With Max Angelelli and Brian Frisselle as co-drivers, scored victories at the July 4 Brumos Porsche 250 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and for the second time in three years at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in August.

Added podium finishes at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif., and Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona was his only event as a driver, joined by Angelelli, Frisselle and former Formula 1 competitor Pedro Lamy of Portugal. Scored a fourth-place finish.

2010:

Competed in the full Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series schedule for SunTrust Racing as Wayne Taylor Racing for the fourth year, finishing second in the final team point standings, SunTrust's best championship finish since winning the title in 2005. It was the sixth time in seven seasons since joining the series that SunTrust Racing brought home a top-three finish in the final standings.

With Max Angelelli and oldest son Ricky Taylor as co-drivers, scored a victory at the Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, and finished the season with seven podiums and three pole positions.

Season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona was his only event as a driver, joined by Angelelli, Ricky Taylor and former Formula 1 competitor Pedro Lamy of Portugal for the second year in a row. Scored a sixth-place finish.

2011:

Competed in the full Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series schedule for SunTrust Racing as Wayne Taylor Racing for the fifth year, finishing second in the final team point standings for the second year in a row. It was SunTrust's best season since winning the title in 2005 as Max Angelelli and oldest son Ricky Taylor co-drove to three victories, six consecutive pole positions, and eight podium finishes.

Angelelli and Ricky Taylor led 614 laps on the season — most among all Rolex Series teams, and the younger Taylor led laps in every single race to increase his series-record laps-led streak to 17 consecutive races dating back to the 2010 season.
